The Commercial Bank "Zapadny" (Limited Liability Company (OOO)) was founded on December 3, 1993. In 2011, the company was reorganised as an Open Joint-Stock (OAO) Bank "Zapadny".

The Bank has a license № 2598 from the Bank of Russia to conduct banking operations in rubles and foreign currency for individuals and a license to conduct banking operations in rubles and foreign currency for corporate clients. The bank is a member of the Association of Russian Banks, the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange, a member of the MASTERCARD international payment system, payment systems, "Custom Map". The bank is also a member of the Deposit Insurance System.

In March 2011, rating agency AK & M assigned a credit rating of bank "Zapadny" on a national scale at 'B +' with stable outlook. In July 2011, AK & M  confirmed rating of the Bank on a national scale at 'B +' and raised the rating outlook from stable to positive.

As of August 01, 2011 the Capital of the Bank amounted to 1 milliard thousand rubles. There are plans to further increase shareholders' equity.

Currently, the Bank has opened branches in Barnaul, Altai Region and in Voronezh and Gelendzhik, and sub-offices in Moscow and the Moscow region - Odintsovo, Troitsk, Podolsk and Lyubertsy, as well as an additional office in Novorossiysk and an operating office in Lipetsk From April to June 2011 we opened operational offices in Tver, Novosibirsk, Omsk, and Ryazan, and credit-cash offices in Saratov, Samara, Izhevsk, Kaliningrad and Taganrog. In the second half of 2011 we will open credit-cash offices in Volgograd, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen.

The main priorities in the development strategy of Bank Zapadny are increasing our capital and the quality of our assets, obtaining an international credit rating and issuing a rouble bond. These funds will be used to grow our loan portfolio, expand our regional presence and to enhance our product offering. In addition, we aim to attract international investors to become minority shareholders, with a view to listing our shares on a stock exchange in the medium term.

The marketing strategy of the Bank Zapadny is based on developing and promoting convenient,. socially-oriented banking products for individuals and targeted loan and deposit product lines for businesses, as well as a range of complementary banking services for both private and corporate clients.

Being a socially-oriented company, Bank Zapadny is involved in projects aimed at assisting vulnerable groups.
